Dr. Jessica and 2 of our massage therapists, Catherine and Jennifer, have recently completed the Standard Process 21 day purification cleanse.
The cleanse is not like most cleanses you hear of where people are complaining about how hungry they are throughout and how they go back to their old habits as soon as it is over. The cleanse consists of fruits, vegetables, legumes, quinoa, and lean meat/fish. You may also bake with coconut flour. Therefore, you are eliminating nuts, dairy, eggs, grains. food additives, artificial sweeteners, alcohol, caffeine, and processed foods.
There are many reasons for choosing to do a cleanse. Many people focus on weight loss, which is a common “side effect” of the cleanse. However, there are many other positive side effects.
Dr. Jessica’s main goal was to sleep better. She was able to fall asleep easily, but waking up 4-6 times a night. Within 3 or 4 days of the cleanse, she was only getting up 2 times a night, and by the end of the 21 days, she was getting up only 1 time. Other changes she noticed were an increase in energy, decreased anxiety, elimination of sugar cravings, improved memory, elimination of headaches, decreased muscle aches, and a change in the appearance of her skin.
